Hatfield Temple is proud to announce that attorneys E. Hood Temple and Alec Hogsette have been recognized by Super Lawyers. A division of Thomson Reuters, Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.

Less than 5% of South Carolina lawyers are selected by Super Lawyers.

Less than 2.5% of South Carolina lawyers under the age of 40 are selected as Rising Stars.

The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews by practice area. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selections are made on an annual, state-by-state basis.

The objective of Super Lawyers is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel. The result is a credible, comprehensive, and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys.

Attorney E. Hood Temple was recognized as a Super Lawyer. Attorney Alec Hogsette was recognized as a Super Lawyer Rising Star. Both Hood and Alec are civil personal injury attorneys. The Super Lawyers lists are published nationwide in Super Lawyers Magazines and in leading city and regional magazines and newspapers across the country. Super Lawyers Magazines also feature editorial profiles of attorneys who embody excellence in their practice of law.

Lawyers cannot nominate themselves and are prohibited from campaigning to be included as a Super Lawyer

A judge who reviewed the Super Lawyers selection process said the following:

“It is absolutely clear from this record that [Super Lawyers does] not permit a lawyer to buy one’s way onto the list, nor is there any requirement for the purchase of any product for inclusion in the lists or any quid pro quo of any kind or nature associated with the evaluation and listing of an attorney or in the subsequent advertising of one’s inclusion in the lists.”

“Hood and I are incredibly honored by our selection into this prestigious national organization. What makes an award like Super Lawyers special is that it begins with nominations and evaluations by our peers. Most attorneys have the capacity to be strong advocates for their clients; however, effective representation involves experience and knowing how to develop a compelling case strategy. We are humbled by the level of respect this award represents and will continue to be professional in the pursuit of justice on behalf of our clients and their families” said Attorney Alec Hogsette.
